This knife is easily distinguishable due to the typical claw shape of the karambit and the completely black colour. Like most karambits, the Elite Force EF717 can be held in two ways. The conventional way is to slip the little finger over the ring and press the thumb against the back. With the reverse grip, you pass your thumb through the ring and wrap your other fingers around the handle. The black finish of the blade extends to the tang, which joins the polymer cheek pads. The knife comes with a nylon sheath with a belt paddle attachment.
