In the South Pacific, during the days that closed the Second World War, a contingent of the Marines attacked the beaches of Iwo Jima. Here some of the heaviest clashes of the war were held, many of them in close combat. After 4 bloody days they are gone. The Marines raised the American flag as a sign of victory on top of Mount Suribachi.
For almost 200 years the Marines have been ready ... whenever duty calls. Often this has meant close-range fights. In these intense moments, men rely on companions and survival equipment.
The WW II commemorative series recalls these combat knives and celebrates the dedication, value and sacrifices of American soldiers. The US Marines Iwo Jima knife is a limited edition of the 30cm US Navy 7 '' Mark 2 combat knife. The blade is burnished with 18k gold representation of the raising of the American flag on Mount Suribachi.
