It is somewhat strange to see this type of product launched by a company that does not deal with Soft-air, that is, simulated war toys or training simulacra. Instead GAMO, a Spanish company that has made a name for itself over the years as an important manufacturer of compressed air weapons cal.4.5mm and 5.5mm both at low and high power for both recreational and competitive sports, launched this year, a pistol based on the design of an SMG, specifically the MP9 produced in Switzerland by Brügger & Thomet AG. Also owner of brands such as BSA and Laser Genetics, GAMO knows perfectly the trends and preferences of the modern compressed air market, which is no longer what it once was, linked only to the federal or Olympic academic shooting. For this reason, its MP9 is part of a range aimed above all to conquer new shooters, those who have grown up between the practice of Soft-Air and Call of Duty , the new levers whose tastes are changing a bit the whole international gun scene, despite serious, and incomprehensible, resistance from many more traditionalist companies, which however risk thus seriously compromising their market share for the future; a risk that, based on what we see, GAMO does not seem willing to take it.
But the GAMO MP9 is not just appearance: powered by a charger that contains sixteen spherical or "Diabolo" caliber pellets and also houses a canister of CO² for propulsion, it is available in a version with energy at the mouth of less than 7.5 Joules (therefore free sale), and in addition to the construction of the external Chassis and the plastic folding butt plate, it uses a metal barrel built according to the criteria that GAMO uses for its best rifles and carefully striped, in order to maintain better precision even on average distances. The picture is completed by two MIL-STD-1913 "Picatinny" rails for optics and accessories, and an indicative price to the public that slightly exceeds € 100. Distribution in Italy is entrusted to the official GAMO importer for our country, the Adinolfi of Monza.
